About Our Products
Our first product was the San Francisco ceiling fan. I looked around for well-designed contemporary ceiling fans and there were just one or two available on the market. I also wanted to impart a feeling of lightness and airiness to a fan design which I thought would be appropriate. That’s why I came up with the delicate yet strong structure for the “see-through” downrod. I also wanted to eliminate the so called “blade irons” which most fans use to mount the blades. That’s how the unique and patented San Francisco blade mounting system was created. I worked hard on the harmonious proportions and honest simplicity of the shapes which are part of my personal artistic aesthetic. The fan was a bit of a challenge to engineer for manufacturing but all of the obstacles were overcome and the end result was a beautifully made and finished piece. I often wonder at what tremendous value my fan designs represent. Several of them are museum quality pieces, and they cost just a few hundred dollars. They contain powerful motors, sophisticated control systems, most of them come with a light fixture included, and all of that for a price that is comparable or even less than a simple light fixture from Europe. The reason is that there is such a long felt need for good contemporary ceiling fan designs that they are quite popular which enables us to make them affordable. They may be a bit more than other ceiling fans, but I strongly believe that “a thing of beauty is a joy forever”.The Cirque ceiling fan is another favorite of mine. It is very sculptural, and even though the accessory multi-colored blades can be used for children’s rooms, I did not really mean them to be “humorous” but artistic, and I knew that those who appreciate art would understand… For broader appeal we included a mahogany blade option, and the fan comes with silver blades as standard which give it a beautifully pure look. So they all turned out just fine, because the mahogany blades also happen to look very classy. When I designed it I experimented and tilted the smaller blades slightly upward. When the fan was tested it proved to be a great high performance air mover. That was a nice bonus, especially with the very quiet and powerful motor that we managed to package inside. I hope that the fan will put a happy smile on your face – anyone with a spark of joie de vivre is likely to enjoy it, I think.
If you want the ability to control the air flow precisely from a breeze to a gale, please check out the Gyro fan. This fan has to be seen and felt to be believed. You can sit in your favorite easy chair and point the fan at yourself by stopping the rotation of the center rotor by remote control. There is a very well engineered mechanism inside of the center rotor. The gears are strong and quiet and will last a lifetime. The side fans swivel and can very easily be locked into place. You can even tilt them at different angles. This ceiling fan is a real engineering marvel. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
The Gauguin fan is the first modern tropical fan. I always try to innovate. So I used the popular tropical fan theme with clean lines that will go well with about any décor. Most tropical fans do not move any air at all because the blades are so big that they almost overlap and they can’t “bite” into the air. We fixed that. The Gauguin ceiling fan creates a pretty nice breeze because we made the blades sleeker and installed four of them instead of five to create enough space in between the blades to make it possible for them to move the air. Additionally, we think that adjustment gave it a really well balanced, harmonious appearance. See if you agree…
